'Still life workshop, focusing on colour mixing with oils' Feb 28th 10-3pm
Join me in the fabulous classroom at RCC to build your confidence with still life painting .
Making small colour studies before you start a painting is a such a good habit to get into and we will dedicate time in the morning to some thoughtful colour mixing practice. Late morning and during the afternoon you can work on a larger painting or a couple of small ones
You will need you’re own materials and a painting board/canvas/or suitable paper no larger than 12”x16” for the day plus spare paper. The list of materials is below and if you’re local to Rye our local Art shop ‘Artwrite’ has everything you need.
Materials for painting workshops
Summery of the day
In the morning we will be creating a range of colour palettes for our still life that I like to call colour notes. This is such good practise for understanding more about your colour choices, and learning how many tones you can create from a limited palette of colours. Essentially it allows you to experiment before committing to the final piece.
There will be a short coffee break at 11.15 and then lunch at 12.30-1pm
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day
I am very happy for you to bring materials you already have as long as you use this list as a rough guide.
